Are You Aware of House Bill 818?
The General Assembly in Missouri passed HB 818 during the 2007 legislative session. The bill takes effect January 1, 2008 and allows dependent children to remain on a parent's healthcare insurance policy until age 25 regardless of whether the dependent is a full time student or not. Some insurance companies are implementing the program at the employer's renewal date and some have implemented the new rule across the board to all employer groups beginning on January 1, 2008.
